Toshiba Thrive Now Available For Pre

There is no hotter technology market going on right now than the battle taking place for a piece of the tablet pie. The Apple iPad is obviously the king of the jungle at this point in time, but that market is becoming ripe with competition now. Names like Samsung and HP are also coming out with their own offerings and you can bet it will not be long before others enter the fray. With that said, the marketplace is abuzz with news that the Toshiba Thrive is now available for pre-order. For those consumers that are interested in getting a piece of the latest offering from Toshiba can do so through a couple of different avenues initially. One can go through Toshiba’s own website, CNET article, consumers can look to pay $429.99 for the 8GB option and goes up to $479.99 and $579.99 for the 16GB and 32GB models. Buyers on first glance might wonder what is going to set the Thrive apart from a growing list of tablets that are making their way on to the scene this summer. It will be running on the Android 3.1 Honeycomb platform, but this is not unique in and of itself, as another competitor will also feature Android running on their tablets. You’re going to get a brilliant looking 10.1 inch display, but again that is nothing earth shattering. The Toshiba website also clues users into the fact that the tablet with have cameras on both front and back and will include standards such as HDMI and USB 2.0 to name a few of the connection possibilities. All of that is pretty standard fodder though in the tablet world. So why purchase the Thrive as opposed to one of the competitors. Well for awhile at least, it is going to offer some enticing options that others are not offering at this moment. A quick view of the website shows that the Thrive can be purchased in a myriad of colors and if one finds that a color does not suit the, they can easily replace it with another at a low twenty dollar price. Perhaps one of the most exciting features that the Thrive will bring to the forefront is giving the consumer the use of Log Me In software. For those that might not be familiar with the functionality of this software, it allows the user to be able to connect to their home PC via this tablet device. That little extra alone makes this Thrive unique on the market for a little bit, while its competitors scurry to figure out how to put it on their equipment. Add into that another fact that CNET mentions in their article about the addition of a file managing software that lets you glance through an attached storage device and one can see that the Thrive has a number of things that make a pre-order of this machine an enticing possibility for those interested in adding a tablet to their technology toys!
